I love the idea of having my spool of filament on the side and plastic guided into the direct drive by the bowden tube. I tried spool on top and did not like that as it takes up much more space. It's strong enough to hold the bowden tube and guide the filament straight down into the extruder and not pulling off to the side. I printed PLA with support, 0.2mm layer, 4 wall, 20% infill. It is very strong.
