Bowden Spring Tension Cap

Bowden Spring Tension Cap

thingiverse

Tension caps offer an easy fix for inconsistent filament flow caused by worn-out extrusion springs. As the spring compresses over time, it loses its grip on the filament, resulting in weaker prints and inconsistent output. Print either a 2mm or 3mm cap, which can be inserted beneath the spring to restore pressure on the filament. This compression helps the extruder maintain a secure hold on the filament. If further modification is needed due to continued spring wear, simply replace the screw under the spring with a longer one, allowing for adjustable cap height. The cap sits atop this new screw. If these adjustments fail to produce desired results, it's time to replace the worn-out spring altogether.
