Bowden/PTFE Tube Aid
thingiverse
Here are two useful tools for people who need to remove and/or insert their Bowden tubes into or out of fittings.\r\n\r\nDon't wait until you need these; print them in advance so they'll be ready when you do.\r\n\r\nFirst, there's the pair of slip-on blocks that fit loosely over a Bowden tube. When interlocked, they form a fairly tight fit and can be used to pull the tube out by pressing down on the fitting tab with one hand while pulling with the other. These blocks help make solid contact with the tab, which should release the inner "teeth" securing the tube without damaging it.\r\n\r\nThe second tool is designed to be placed on the tube before inserting it into a fitting. This closed-circle item works similarly to the first tool but remains attached to the tube at all times. To use it, place the part with the largest portion facing the fitting and then pull the tube out by placing fingers against the fat part while using the other hand to pull the tube. This should make removal or insertion much easier.\r\n\r\nI also made some adjustments to ensure that the hole fits the tube properly, so there shouldn't be any problems with it now.
