Bowden extruder

Bowden extruder

thingiverse

This is my own design of a spring-loaded Bowden extruder that makes it easy to use a quick-release lever for manual filament loading and unloading. It utilizes a standard 608 ball bearing and a few 3M screws. The spring I use is the same type commonly used for mounting heatbeds on 3D printers, which can be easily adjusted by turning a screw if needed. The design also allows for installing an optional short piece of Bowden tube under the Bowden coupling to guide flexible filaments. I created this using SketchUp, and I've included the skp-file as well. Feel free to modify it if you want. Print Settings Printer: Homebuilt Core-XY printer Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.4mm nozzle, 0.15 mm layer height Infill: 50% Notes: Printed in PLA with 3 or 4 shell layers.
