Bowden Extruder Isolated Shelf Mount

Does your shelf-mounted extruder transmit every microstep into amplified sound through your shelf? Try this simple mount. Two pieces of 3mm close-cell foam provide isolation from the shelf, making the extruder stepper motor dead silent. All I hear is a faint whir when it does a retraction. Designed to fit standard white shelves available at Home Depot and Lowe's (as well as many other places) with some foam sandwiched between for vibration/sound isolation. I included a pic with the shelf thickness so there are no questions. A thicker shelf (say 3/4") would use a single layer of foam. The extruder mount holes fit an M3 screw perfectly, at least from my machine. If you don't have some foam lying about, you could use a couple stick-on rubber isolator pads (from a hardware store) stuck to the shelf, then slide the mount on. Simple and functional. Enjoy.
