Bowden clamp for Rostock
thingiverse
The Rostock is a delta robot 3D printer that utilizes a part capable of holding a MakerGear PEEK insulator (GrooveMount) and a bowden tube featuring a 4mm outer diameter. The M8 nut allows for adjustments in clamp pressure to prevent the bowden tube from dislodging. Newer OpenSCAD source files can be accessed at http://github.com/jcrocholl/rostock. For optimal performance, print with ABS for increased heat resistance; PLA is also functional but may require a fan to cool the hotend. Due to the thin top layer, printing may necessitate a slow pace to ensure adequate cooling between layers; alternatively, use bowden_hotend_cooldown.stl for added cooling time. Prepare the part by drilling the clamp hole to 4mm and cutting the three slots open with a sharp knife if necessary. Secure a stainless steel M8 nut on top without over-tightening. If required, widen the PFA tube interior to 2mm. Attach the assembly using two M4 nuts and a Wade style plywood GrooveMount. Flexible clear metric PFA (Teflon) tubing with a 2mm internal diameter and 4mm external diameter is recommended, such as http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/137.
