A new version of the PTFE cable holder for 4.67mm Teflon tubes is available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1899. This holder guides the filament from a driving mechanism to the extrusion head through the flexible tube, which reduces moving mass and stringing when not extruding. The updated design features no holes for easier attachment of the PTFE tube. To secure the tube in place, create grooves or cuts on its surface, apply glue, and push it into the cable holder until fully cured. Additionally, two holders can be connected to extend or combine lengths of Bowden cables. The concept was inspired by Ed Sells' post (http://blog.reprap.org/2009/04/bowden-extruder-concept.html). To prevent poor quality extrusion, a flow control system accounting for pressure on the filament is recommended. A video of the cable holder in action can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ddmB9ScSbQ.
