Bow Vise
thingiverse
This is a basic bow vise that can be used either on a bench or held in place using a G Clamp. I found 30% infill to be sufficient, but you can always increase it if desired - I think it's strong enough at this level. When printing the clamp block stand, position it on its edge for improved flexibility when squeezed in a vise or G Clamp. Assembling the vise is done by turning the main screw inward through the top of the vise, leaving room to slide the vise plate with the inserted pin underneath. Align the pin with the hole at the bottom of the screw and tighten until it's securely fastened - there will still be a gap between the screw and the vise plate for smooth rotation. The threads may feel tight at first, but they should loosen up after a few turns. Note that you might need to press the clamp body together while inserting the pin as the main body jaws can warp slightly, making it difficult to drive the pin home. I recommend using the clamp block as it provides a better clamping surface on the vise arm. Another modification you could consider is attaching rubber pads to the contact surfaces of the vise to prevent potential scratching of the bow limbs.
