Boutonniere

Boutonniere

I utilized an unaltered exceptional rose (Thing: 152642) and redesigned a pre-existing stem (Thing: 245722) to create this printable boutonniere. This possibly may be the first 3D printed boutonniere, suitable for various formal events like proms, black ties, and weddings. To achieve the desired dimensions, I shortened the stem to approximately 72mm and widened it to 6.5mm while adding two holes for pinning. However, the rose's top needs gluing to maintain its integrity with the stem. Kindly print this design and share your pictures here! Thank you, FreeTinkers - A 'Secret' Society of Free Thinkers who enjoy tinkering. For printing instructions: I employed a Makerbot Replicator 2 for this project. For the rose, no raft or support was required. The infill was set at 10% with two shells and a layer height of .35mm (lower settings could work too). Extruder speed was set to 90mm, travel speed at 150mm, and the temperature was kept at 230 degrees Celsius. Similarly, no raft or support was needed for the stem during printing, which I positioned upright. The infill was also 10% with two shells, a layer height of .20mm, an extruder speed of 50mm, and travel speed at 60mm, maintaining a temperature of 230 degrees Celsius. These settings worked best for me.
