Bouncy Cat Automaton

The goal of this project was to design a 3D-printed automaton according to our own imagination and other automaton inspirations online. Once all parts were assembled to the best of our capability, we tested to see how they worked and post-processed our parts to have the automaton function. Our project is a 3D printed cat laying down with both a bouncy tail and a slamming arm. We created a box 20cm long that fit the cat's body. Through the use of two cams, we were able to create a repetitive bouncing motion. My partner and I hand-designed each part prior to 3D design to find appropriate dimensions for all parts of the automaton. With optimal print settings and some post-processing to fit each part perfectly, you will have a bouncing cat of your own to play with! Overall Dimensions were 20 cm long, 10 cm deep, and approximately 30 cm tall when all put together. Link to my partner's page:
