Inspiration strikes when looking at Jolars' DIY project for a Nikon Speedlite. Comparison photos show the contrast between bounce flash and direct flash. A blank shot, taken on a white wall that measures about five by five feet, demonstrates the spread of light. Note that a pink hue appears due to printing my prototype with this unique filament color. I take all my flash photos with a Canon S5is at its highest optical zoom (20x) and minimum aperture (f/8), shot from approximately five feet away. Using indirect flash reduces harsh shadows, eliminates glare, and diminishes bright spots.
