The Carbon Fiber Matt on the Weta Trimaran is like all carbon fiber mats, fragile. So I made a carbon fiber plug, since during maintenance if the edge falls to the ground we can easily break it. On the plug, I also made a hole for a 5mm screw with a place for the nut underneath so as to hold a support for night navigation lights, a NAVISAFE NaviLight one. The light is much more visible at the mast head than on deck. The plug is held in place by the GV's rudder axis (I'll need to make another about millimeters longer).
