The Vertex k8400's bottom plate features an unusual position for its fan, which is responsible for cooling not just the electronics but also the stepper drivers in particular. Although some modifications have already been made, I recently implemented a straightforward adjustment that has proven to be extremely effective. This simple tweak involves mounting the fan in the two holes where tie-rips secure the flat cable. The fan-holder itself has a cut-out section designed specifically for reattaching the flat cable.
