Bottlecap scifi barrel terrain
thingiverse
This is a silly idea that came to me because I drink a lot (too much!) soda. I've been looking to combine kitbashing and 3d printing to make some scifi terrain and I realized that the bottle caps had a cool texture on the sides. So by connecting them bottom-to-bottom and adding a bit of detail to the endcaps, they look like a convincing “futuristic” barrel - perhaps to store some dangerous chemicals. Anyway, it turned out alright, I think! Note that these are for ~30mm diameter Coca-Cola brand caps in my area; you'll have to scale the set up or down for other sizes. You will need to glue the printed parts to the bottlecaps. Most glues that work with plastic should be fine. I use a basic superglue. I hope you have fun with it!
