My son is 3 years old, and he's firmly in the "I-can-do-it-myself" phase of his life. This means that when we're out on my mountain bike, I'm not allowed to give him a hand getting onto the seat. So, I came up with a solution - a custom step attachment that would make it easier for him to climb aboard. As he was using my water bottle holder as a makeshift step stool, the idea struck me. I decided to print out a special step thingy that would give him the confidence to get all the way up onto the seat. I printed mine in PLA plastic and it's held up remarkably well so far. While PETG might be an even better choice, my current setup is still going strong. Incidentally, I highly recommend this particular child bike seat if you're planning a mountain biking adventure with your little one. My son has an absolute blast cruising through the forest!
