Bottle Top Shooter

The "Bottle Top Shooter" is a miniature crossbow I designed for the Ultimaker challenge. Inspired by holiday fun with my cousins and their Nerf guns, I wanted to solve the issue of lost ammo by using milk bottle tops as projectiles. The universal size of UK bottle tops makes them perfect for this purpose, but they could be adjusted for other lid sizes. To enhance the creativity, custom ammo pucks (CAPs) with unique designs can be used, much like the popular school craze, Pogs. Experimenting with different shapes, weights, and even adding LED lights or sound effects could make this project even more fun. The shooter is designed in 8 pieces that are printed on a flat surface and assembled using machine screws and glue for extra strength. I hope my idea sparks enthusiasm and helps reduce waste by repurposing milk bottle tops into an enjoyable toy.
