This mysterious Mississippi Plain bottle emerged in 1933. While its exterior might have been dyed a deep black, this wouldn't be characteristic of a vessel from Arkansas, suggesting instead that the dark hue was likely created during the firing process. A prominent probe hole is clearly visible near the base.
