Bottle Stopper Top
thingiverse
My wife bought a bottle stopper at the local grocery store. It worked great for about a month, until the top fell off. It was just glued on, but for some reason the manufacturer drilled and tapped the metal base to M8 x 1.25 threads. This gave me the idea of printing a new top for it. I searched the web for stoppers and found one that inspired me. I used Inventor 2020 to model the new top but wanted to use the threads to my advantage. So I took the Inventor model and opened it in Fusion 360. There I added threads to the hole in the bottom of the new top piece and modeled them. I tweaked the threads a little to give more clearance for the threaded rod they would be screwed onto. The first "complete" print came out great and the top screwed right on without any issues. I added the Inventor model as well as the Fusion model in case anyone wants to remix.
