Bottle Stacker XL

Bottle Stacker XL

Background:I wanted an easy way to stack empty 5 gallon water jugs while keeping most dust out but still letting air flow to keep mold from potentially growing. Take a stroll with me as we walk the path I chose to travel.  About:This just fits on the bed of my printer… with a couple millimeters to spare (470% larger compared to the original if you're interested).Added some janky holes with Meshmixer because I felt that it may save on filament… and it doesn't really… not much anyway. Also lowered, not scaled, in the Z axis a bit to cut down on some more material at the base.Grab your least expensive filament, spend a moment slicing, sit back and watch the molten plastic flow for many, many hours. Process:Print 3+ of the modelGlue 2 together mirroring shape of modelStack - Single model on the base (floor), Dual on top of first bottle Bask in the joy of a job well done …until…Crash - whoops, the bottles keep falling down. Come to find the model, amongst many other reasons, will not rest where desired. Shouldn't I have noticed this while planning? Yes. Oh well. Conclusion:Do I recommend others print this remix for its intended purpose of stacking 5 gal bottles? NO! There are better, easier solutions. Find one or create a better, easier solution. Not all paths end in success but as long as there were nice sites (or sights), learned something, and hopefully didn't loose an appendage it can still be a worthwhile journey. Now, onward to the next project!
