I am not a master inventor or designer, but I am driven by a personal motivation. My wife suffers from lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, which can make everyday tasks impossible by hand. As her husband, I felt compelled to help. To solve this problem, I brainstormed ideas until something clicked. I wanted to create a device that would provide leverage without requiring much hand strength or movement. It had to be something that could not only aid my wife but also benefit others who may face similar challenges. The design you see here is the result of my thinking and experimentation. It's not perfect, but it's open-ended and adaptable. The attachments are interchangeable, allowing for future functions. The long arm offers significant leverage, while the strap enables users to open bottles even with severely disabled hands – all they need to do is press the adapter onto the cap and turn the arm to twist the cap open. I've included two adapters so far: one for standard 64-ounce juice bottles and another for US plastic soda bottles from 12 oz to 2-liter. I plan to create a third adapter that can fit various larger caps, but that will require more time to design and test. My goal is to make this device available in case it helps anyone beyond my wife. I've licensed the design to ensure it remains free for personal use. You're welcome to share the model with attribution and print it for someone in need – just remember not to charge them money. If you're not willing to give away a print, please don't waste your filament. I recommend using PLA for the lever and flexible filament for the cap adapters. The juice bottle adapter could benefit from being slightly tighter, and I may release an updated version soon. The soda bottle adapter fits snugly and can lift a full 20-oz bottle once it's in place – please refer to the print settings for further recommendations. What drew me to 3D printing was its potential to help fix things around the house. I never imagined someone close to me would be diagnosed with a debilitating disease, but this experience has motivated me to explore 3D design more seriously. This project is my most substantial effort yet, and while I have no illusions about its commercial success, I'll be thrilled if it can aid even one person beyond my wife. If you decide to print this device, please share your results or story. If you have questions or constructive feedback, feel free to post a comment. As for trolls, kindly keep your negativity elsewhere – I have no patience for those who mock others with difficulties. God bless and do good!
