Bottle Light
thingiverse
A simple yet elegant little light I crafted to adorn a stylish bottle of tequila. Activating it is as effortless as twisting the lid, which presses the contact into the battery and sets the LED aglow. To bring this creation to life, you'll need: * A screw-top bottle with an interior neck diameter of 17.5mm * A 10mm LED light source * Three coin cell batteries (8mm OD) - I sourced mine from a cheap plastic candle * Long-nose pliers for precision work * And, of course, access to a 3D printer Assembly: * Trim the shorter leg of the LED to a few millimeters and bend it over to prevent contact with the other leg. * Bend the longer leg as shown in the accompanying picture; it can be fine-tuned later if needed. * Place the LED into its designated part, inserting it long leg first. The LED will slide in sideways once centered, then twist it so that the long leg aligns perfectly with the slot. * Insert the battery from above, ensuring it's seated correctly - you may need to lift the leg up slightly for a smooth fit. * Bend the leg upwards to hold the battery snugly in place, about 1mm above the top of the battery compartment. * Place the light into its bottle home and screw on the lid. Make any necessary adjustments. This humble light isn't the brightest, but it can be a useful companion when getting up at night without disturbing your partner. Plus, it's a great way to repurpose old bottles you'd otherwise discard. Feel free to request modifications for different bottle neck diameters - I'll be happy to create custom designs for you!
