Bottle cooler for the fridge
thingiverse
This project began when my friend expressed frustration that he couldn't cool his drinking bottle quickly enough at work. I designed this holder, which allows him to place a half-liter soda bottle or can inside and store it in the fridge. The bottle is positioned on top of an 80 mm PC fan, which circulates cold air around the bottle. The funnel's opening measures 66 mm. I incorporated a simple controller using Arduino, but a manual switch would suffice to control the fan. I power the fan for one second at 5V via a FET (though it's a 12V fan), then turn it off for eight seconds. This cycle keeps the fan constantly spinning. The project isn't perfect, but since I won't make updates, I'm sharing this idea with others who might want to create a version two. 1) I chose the 80 mm fan because that was what I had available. A 40 mm fan would likely have been sufficient, or even better, a centrifugal fan could have been used. 2) It would be ideal to implement a system where the funnel is easy to replace, allowing users to create different funnels for various bottle sizes.
