Sometimes I can be frugal. Using water bottle caps in my hobby is one of those times. I sometimes use a water bottle cap for my palette, and I prefer that it be at an angle so that the paint pools to one side. However, after only a dab or two of my brush, the cap inevitability will slip and fall down flat—absolutely ruining my day. Thus, I invented this. It is designed primarily for the water and soda bottle cap sizes common in the USA, which are 30mm +-1mm. I made this big enough to handle large gallon-sized milk carton caps as well. But slow down there friend; those contrast paints are the most expensive ones in the universe.

You can upgrade these to add mass, but it will cost you $0.05 (the hole in the base has room for five US pennies).

Glue the two pieces together; I used CA glue.

I use poster tack to keep the cap on the base.

Update

Added decorate lids for the heck of it.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK2.5

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Doesn't Matter

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20%

Notes:

Printed in an hour for me.

Category: Art Tools
