Bottle Cap crafty jigs
thingiverse
A friend of mine was making Nuka-Cola caps, so I designed these for him. They keep your bottle caps from spinning or moving while you work on them. The designs are currently only suitable for holding caps with the label facing up - let me know if you need one that works upside down. These jigs held any unbroken beer bottle caps I tried to put in them, though some required a bit of pushing to get inside and others were loose and shook around (but couldn't spin). Your results may vary. UPDATE: I've added capjiglite_v1.10stack.stl because people reported that capjigv1.05stack.stl wasn't very willing to accept caps with irregular shapes. This new one has fewer triangular posts. That means caps will slide in a bit easier, but might also wobble a little more - still won't move or rotate. Print the capjigkeyv1.0.stl file to lock two or more jigs together. The key fits perfectly for me - I had to put it upside down since those bottom layers are thicker. These trays can be stacked, so if you need to let some paint or glue dry and still want your workspace available, you can stack em up there's a little notch in the bottom corners to line up with the corner posts. Dimensions: 3.75 inches long x 3.75 inches wide (95.3 mm) The base is 1/8 inch thick, triangles are 1/8 inch tall. Posts are 0.78 inches (19.8mm) tall, making a stack height of 11/16 inch (17.5mm). Print Settings: Rafts: Doesn't matter. Supports: No Notes: The ones pictured were printed in white ABS with 0.254mm layer height and 25% infill - that seemed plenty strong enough.
