Order the Botmobile Kit from MakerBot's online store and receive all necessary parts for constructing your very own 3D-printed remote control Dune Buggy! Experience the thrill of driving through sand dunes with the wind in your hair, sun on your face, while cruising along in your custom-built Botmobile Dune Buggy. An open source project designed by Skimbal, this Dune Buggy is a new take on remote control cars and can be assembled at home using the provided Botmobile chassis. For a visual demonstration of the Botmobile Dune Buggy in action, check out this YouTube video: http://youtu.be/tQIfChZZTog. The non-printed components and electronics are included in the kit, which can be purchased at http://store.makerbot.com/makerbot-botmobile.html. Be sure to print one of each part except for wheels.stl, which requires two copies. Follow assembly instructions available at http://www.makerbot.com/support/projects/botmobile/. Printing notes include the importance of extra shells and infill in certain files, as well as protecting prints from drafts and temperature changes to prevent cracking. Skimbal, also known for designing Turtle Shell Racers, has refined this design 12 times, culminating in the open source Botmobile RC Car.
