As the advancement in 3d-printing technology, we are in the phase of extreme-redesigning. This phase is greatly affecting the way we teach our children. There are new ways of teaching which are dominating the primitive ways. One of these ways of teaching is through new and innovative toys. These toys give our kids insight into how things work and help them construct toys of them owns. My goal here is to help children understand the basic mechanics of gears. Because gears are what most of our world revolves around, from aircraft engines to a tanks mechanized tracks, gears are what fuels the most world technologies working. As a mechanical engineer, I have designed a “Boston dynamic Robot-dog like the toy.” This design is inspired by Boston dynamic robot. Its legs move forward and backward by rotating the key. The main body of the toy is to be printed by a transparent material (See through Material) and the inner parts with PLA or ABS color material. By doing this one can clearly see how the legs will move forward and backward and understand the basic mechanics. And the kids will understand how joining a few gears on can make a whole working system. Materials used:Mainbody1 file = Transparent ABS or PLAUpper body Main file = Transparent ABS or PLARest of the parts could be of ABS or PLA of any desired color. Note: The springs are 0.3 inches in diameter. You can buy them from any hardware store for a dollar and attach it with screws. Other then the springs everything is 3D printed and when constructed the size of the toy will be exactly. 120.65 x 120.65 x 120.65 mm (4.75 x 4.75 x 4.75 inches). I have also added pictures to explain the assembling and working of the toy. And one last thing please use 0.2 micro screws to attach the gears between on the main body.
With this file you will be able to print Boston Dynamic Robotic-Dog like Toy with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Boston Dynamic Robotic-Dog like Toy.
