Base Plate for Half-Inch Flooring Installation Lost the Original Plates, Had to Create My Own After moving into my new place, I couldn't find the base plates that came with my flooring nailer. So, I decided to make my own using a digital caliper to measure the 3/4 inch plate I had already installed. The plate is designed to withstand heavy use, so I printed it with a 50% infill setting. This provides extra strength and durability. I used the same original 6mm screws that came with my nailer to secure the base plate in place.
