Bose QC35 Headset Adapter

This adapter enables you to attach a V-MODA BoomPro Mic to Bose QC35 headphones to make a gaming headset with high quality audio, noise cancelling, and in-line mute and volume controls.Along with a pair of Bose QC35 headphones, you will need these items.V-MODA BoomPro Microphone https://a.co/d/2AW7Mkw2.5mm Male to 3.5mm Female Cable https://a.co/d/0iRmaQsLapel Mic Windscreen https://a.co/d/2Er7itu (optional)Installation NotesIt’s a good idea to take off the ear cushion before you do anything else to keep it from getting damaged and make the whole process less of a struggle. They come off with a gentle pull but putting them back on isn’t as straightforward. You can look up a video on YouTube or refer to the Bose manual.Put the adapter on the headphone body before snapping the mic in. You don’t want to deal with wires and a relatively delicate boom arm when you’re wrestling with the adapter. The portion that attaches to the headphones is exceptionally well fitted thanks to 4689rich. It will take some effort to get the lugs over the edge of the headphone body. As you’ll find out, you’ll never have to worry about the adapter coming off unintentionally, but the side effect is that it’s a pain to remove and reinstall. I treat this setup as a dedicated gaming headset that can be reverted to a stock QC35 in the future if I wanted. I recommend you approach this project with the same mindset unless you’re cool with having a plastic bracket protruding from your headphones when you’re vibing to music. The BoomPro snaps right into the adapter as shown in the photo. It’s a snug fit and nothing else is required to hold it in place.Use the 2.5mm Male to 3.5mm Female Cable to connect the BoomPro to the QC35 headphone jack. Why this particular mic?The BoomPro is the only add-on headset mic I could find that combines the headphone audio and mic wires into a single cable with an in-line mute button and rotary volume control. There are other ways to go about doing this like using an Antlion ModMic (good reviews but I have no personal experience with it), an in-line volume control, a Y-adapter, and the audio cable that comes with your headphones. Cost aside, I hate the idea of having that much wiring dangling off my head. The BoomPro combines all these wires into one cable with in-line controls.RespectThe portion that attaches to the headphones was reproduced from the Bose QC35 Mic Base by 4689rich. The dimensions are identical, but I eliminated many of the rounded edges to simplify the geometry. My regards to 4689rich for designing an exceptionally well-fitting article. The bracket that holds the BoomPro was developed from the V-MODA BoomPro Brace by EveningNewbs. The dimensions on my design are a bit tighter because EveningNewbs' design is only meant to keep the mic from swiveling, not actually hold it in place. My regards to EveningNewbs for getting the groundwork started for me.
