Drill out the small hole in the middle if needed. No supports. I used a long screw and screw these into a red anchor for stucco. The strips will "click" into place. No supports or anything. If you need more space added to the standoff let me know. I used one at top and bottom on my verticals of my house and plan to use these for my window frames this season 2021.
