Bosch Universal Plus Spur Gear Removal Tool

The polypropylene bowl of the Bosch Universal Plus mixer has a spur gear at its top center column that snaps in with six flexible tabs. The space between the hidden gear and the column can trap debris, especially from a dishwasher, causing an unpleasant odor. This tool lets you easily push out the spur gear for better cleaning. Photos show my spur gear missing one tab; it's hard to remove without this tool! (I broke it, but it still works.) To use the tool, first take off the center axle. Invert the bowl and look down inside the column to see the spur gear tabs. Align the tool fingers with those tabs, engaging all six at once, and push down firmly on the tool. The spur gear will move a couple millimeters, letting you pull it off the top.
