Bosch Toy Set Screwdriver Handle Improved
thingiverse
I printed off the screwdriver handle by GrodanB in PLA, but unfortunately the retaining tabs snapped right off when I tried to attach the plastic bit. It's possible that using ABS instead might work out better, but I only had PLA on hand at the moment. There's a weak spot here because it was printed upright - that's usually the most efficient way to print, but the layers on the small piece are particularly fragile. If it had been printed on its side, it could be stronger, but that would require lots of supports and wouldn't look as nice. In any case, I added some extra support for the retaining tabs and made the nubs a bit smaller so they'd slip on and off more easily for kids. On one print, I even cut off the nubs altogether and it still held in place perfectly fine. I also gave the bottom of the handle a chamfer to make it feel more comfortable in your hand. Plus, I created another model with a smaller diameter handle that's better suited for smaller hands. Enjoy!
