Bosch RA1181 spacers - Improved
thingiverse
Using the dust/protection shield really helps with both dust and protection, but the hole for the router lift is at the back so I would have to remove the shield to get to the hole and we all know what a pain the the ass that is to do because the spacers are falling everywhere and then trying to put the shield back on is like a clown's juggling act, so I designed these spacers that you can put a nut in to keep everything in place when you need to remove the shield, making things much easier. You can also use these spacers without putting a nut in them for the featherboards. This lets you remove the featherboard without the spacers falling on the floor. The nuts are 1/4" and the bolts that I replaced the carriage bolts with are 2" long (you need to change the 2 carriagebolts for the shield to regular bolts) No glue is needed, the nut holes are made tight so you can just hammer or squeeze the nut in. I'm pretty sure that Bosch uses these same spacers on other models of their router tables. I have no clue why Bosch didn't do this in the first place, those spacers are ludicrous!!
