Bosch PKS 55 to FSN rail adaptor
thingiverse
How the hell can there be such a chaos within the same brand if it comes to BOSCH circular saws and mating BOSCH guide rails ??!! I went into this trap and bought 2 FSN rails, to find out that my PKS55 does not fit at all, and that there is no adapter on the market to combine these 2 (not at all old) Bosch products. Thanks to good pre-designs from MathieuRobroek and Sp4wN I designed this adaptor plate. You can still cut to any angle up to 45°, and the protective swivel cover of the saw still operates freely. You just loose 6mm of cutting depth, which is the thickness of the bottom plate. Check if your saw blade is reasonabley parallel to the side of the silver steel sliding show. On my saw I had 1mm non-parallelity (!!, not what you expect from Bosch), but with descent but carful force sideways you can rectify that. The black bottom plate is a 1-piece design, so make sure your printer provides the required bed size. Due to the size of this part and a lack of finer details you can print with a larger nozzle. I used an 0.8mm nozzle and 0.4mm layer height, 2 perimeters and 20% infill, but still this 200g print took 5 hours. The 3 red sliders on the left are attached via 3 stainless M5x20 hex cap bolts and 3 M5x6x6 brass heat set inserts. It takes no other means to keep the plate in place. The single hole for the countersunk M6 bolt is rather obsolete. Overhangs are no steeper than 55°, so you can print entirely w/o supports. Just enable bridge settings in Cura.
