Attention all makers! I recently discovered that my collet collection was missing a crucial diameter - a whopping 3.2mm. Determined to overcome this setback, I took it upon myself to source an alternative solution. Luckily, the existing collet proved to be functional, but I had to exercise caution when adjusting the feed rate and depth of cut. If left unchecked, the cutter's intense heat could potentially melt the plastic, rendering my project unusable. To mitigate this risk, I opted for a more temperature-resistant material - PETG - which I paired with some leftover Dremel cutters. While PLA may also work, I found that PETG provided the necessary durability to withstand the high temperatures involved in cutting. In an effort to replicate the original Bosch collet design, I created a duplicate using my new PETG material. The result is a sturdy and reliable collet that has proven itself capable of handling various cutting tasks with ease.
