This is inspired from the thing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4560187 In the past I did also try to do improved blades for my ART 26 Trimmer. But nothing was really satisfying. So I started to think about another solution till I found the one mentioned above. I made it with FreeCAD (attached the original FreeCAD file) In addition I used the OpenSCAD files from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9095 I replaced the Nylon trimmer line with pieces from an old clothes line which has a steel core of 2 to 3 mm and a plastic jacket - total diameter around 5 mm. Also added a 3rd line. Now the thing is working much better - note I have removed 5mm of the plastic jacket at each end and made sure the total length is equal (10 to 12 cm) on each end. Running now silently, because the system is better balanced compared to the original system. I first tried it with regular noname PLA and PETG. Both did work with the same settings. Also the functionality was ok. But I noticed that the weight of the total construction could be a bit larger. So I decided to use the Protopasta Iron-filled Metal Composite PLA to have a larger mass. This has a positive effect on the rotation when touching thicker stalks. For info - a comparison on weight the original Bosch system with the blade is approx. 40 gr The PLA/PETG version of my design approx. 66 gr The Protapaste version approx. 112 gr Successfully tested - did use it for the complete garden (800 square meter) and it didn't show much ware-out. !!! Update !!! After some more usage it turned out that a additional fixation with a short slice of wire (e.g. from a paperclip) around the crossing point of the 3 clothes lines holds those in case of touching stones or thicker stalks much better in place and makes working even more enjoyable. Saves a lot of boring time changing the blades with the original system. As an extra I made a wrench for mounting the TOP part on the BOT part on the trimmer. Printed with the same settings - just in PLA or PETG.
