Bore Pig (BPCR .45-70)
thingiverse
I bought some of BACO's "Bore Pigs" (https://www.buffaloarms.com/45-cal-bore-wiper-system-bwcs45.html) to use for wiping black powder residue from the bore of my .45-70 1885 Winchester after each shot since paper patched bullets require a spotless bore for good accuracy. The design seemed pretty simple so I thought I'd just make a similar version of it in fusion 360. The only things you'll need other than the printed piece are the cleaning wads and the O-ring. The hard part was getting the correct O-ring but I am fairly certain I have found the correct one here: O-Ring: 6 mm Nominal Inside Dia., 11 mm Nominal Outside Dia., 11 mm Actual Outside Dia., 100 PK https://www.grainger.com/product/GRAINGER-APPROVED-O-Ring-6-mm-Nominal-Inside-712D12?searchQuery=712D12&searchBar=true I still haven't tested it yet to see if its a good fit but I'll be doing that soon. If it turns out to not be a tight fit then I'll just widen the middle area to stretch the o-ring out a bit until it is, easy. You can buy the wool cleaning wads here: https://www.buffaloarms.com/250pcs-45-rifle-vfg-plain-wool-vfg66879.html I've included pics of the bore pigs I got from BACO as well as a comparison of the o-rings and etc. I STILL HAVE YET TO TEST THIS but I would assume use a lot of infil as you will need to push this down the bore hard.
