Borderlands Red Loot Chest
thingiverse
I modeled this loot chest directly from the Ultimate Loot Chest Edition of the collectible for Borderlands 2, which is visually very accurate due to its original design from the first game. The chest itself measures approximately 15 cm wide and 5 cm high. The lid is hinged so it opens and closes freely. A dummy lock mechanism was used, so I incorporated slots for neodymium magnets to keep the lid closed. A small recess at the back of the body allows for electronics implementation, such as adding lights to the panels, which can be backed with a thin plastic sheet to conceal them. The panels are windowless and designed for backing with frosted plastic to disperse light evenly. This is my first model featuring functional elements, so I appreciate any feedback or advice on improving it. Future ideas include creating a pneumatic lift that raises the platform like in the game, but I'll need some time to master that feature.
