Bora Centipede X-Cup

This is a 2x4 X-Cup bracket for the Bora Centipede. It comes in two parts that are easily assembled with a few light taps from a hammer or a mallet. If you're concerned that the post may back out, add a little bit of CA Glue (Superglue) around the base of the post after assembly.

I printed these using PETG but I suppose PLA or any other rigid material would work. It probably depends on how you're planning on using your Centipede. There is no need for any supports. I used 5 perimeters and 5 top and bottom layers. That makes the sides pretty much solid with just a few layers of infill in the bottom. I used 30% infill which may be overkill but I'm hoping these will last.

Print the two parts in the orientations shown in the STL files. The post has a tapered end which should help guide the unit into the holes in the Centipede. The other end is square so that end should be on the bed when you print it to give you the best chance for adhesion. I did not use any brim on my Mini and it held just fine on the Satin sheet.

The non-tapered end will be inserted into the X-Cup and a few light to medium taps with a hammer or mallet will seat it. Place the X-Cup upside down over a 2x4 then set the post on top of the hole and tap it in while holding the X-Cup firmly down flush to the 2x4. This will assure that the post is flush with the inside of the X-Cup when you're done. If you're having difficulty getting the post to go in, try sanding the post just a bit where it enters the X-Cup. I had a little over extrusion on the post in one of my prints and a light sanding cleaned that up. If it seems loose when you're done, add a bit of CA glue (Superglue) around the seam where the post enters the bottom of the X-Cup.

These fit the Centipede holes and 2x4s just like the original X-Cups. I suggest that you print one and try it before printing more just to make sure you're getting the expected results from you printer and filament.

I added 3mf files for Prusaslicer for the MK3 and Mini printers to print 1, 2 or 4 of these at a time.
