Boplass fra steinalder Rugtvedt - Roverud
sketchfab
In connection with the development in the area behind Lasses by E18 on Rugtvedt in Bamble, two dwellings from the Mesolithic period and the time frame of 7500-7400 BC are currently being investigated. The location that can be seen in the model below is the largest of the two. As the model shows, it is well-defined on all sides by mountains which likely meant this was a fine and peaceful haven when sea levels were 65 meters higher. So far, we have made finds of large quantities of flint throughout, which may suggest that the place has been used at various times or over a longer period. In the Mesolithic period, it seems as though people become more regionally tied to places such as this one and can have been used as a base. By creating 3D models, we can recreate the space's spaciousness both for those who cannot be here to see it but also as a tool for excavators during the excavation process but not least after the excavations are completed and the place is abandoned.
