Boom Arm Headphone Holder

This is my Headphone hook for my cheap microphone boom arm. It is designed for microphone booms with 10mm x 10mm square extrusion, with an exposed bolt at the top of the vertical beam. This should fit all of the generic cheap boom arms found on Ebay/amazon/etc.

This headphone holder is designed to allow an XLR cable to fit through it, and is paired well with clips that hold the XLR cable to the “outside” of the boom arm.

There are two parts of the design that clamp around the boom arm, and require 2 M4 bolts (~16mm in length) to connect together:

part_1 which has a through hole

part_2 which has the threads for the bolt

There are two versions of part_2, one for threading straight into the plastic (_no_insert), and one designed to have a threaded brass insert melted into it (_insert). Either should work fine, but the threaded brass insert makes for a finished product that can be assembled/taken apart slightly easier.

Any M4 threaded knurled brass insert should do. I would recommend one around 5mm in length and melted into the plastic with a soldering iron.

I would also recommend using a piece of adhesive-backed felt to create a softer surface for your headphones. The dimensions of the felt that I used are 24mm x ??mm

If you make one, please post a make! I would love to see if anyone else finds this useful.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Infill:

20%

Category: Audio
