I designed a bookmark using tinkercad, which measures 80 mm in length, 20 mm in width, and just 3 mm in height. Print Settings Printer: Micro 3D Rafts: No Supports: No How I Created This Bookmark First I started with a simple cube shape. Next, I stretched it out to reach a length of 80 mm. Then, I adjusted the height to just 3 mm and that was it. Project: Custom Bookmarks Objectives Students will learn how to calculate volume and area in math and get hands-on experience using Tinkercad. Audiences This project is designed for kids in grades 4 and up. Preparation All you need for this project are Tinkercad accounts and a reliable 3D printer. Steps! The teacher will instruct the students to start by adding a cube shape to the bed. Then, they'll tell them to stretch out the bookmark as big as possible while still fitting on the print bed and adjust the height accordingly. Once the bookmarks are printed, the teacher will have the students calculate the area and volume of each bookmark. With this hands-on experience, students will not only learn how to find volume and area but also remember it because they had fun making the bookmarks. Finally, the students can use these bookmarks for reading. Results By completing this project, students should gain a solid understanding of Tinkercad basics as well as how to calculate area and volume accurately.
