I'm building a compact music player for my kid's bedtime stories, and I'm printing the case as we speak. It'll be a box with a Raspberry Zero W, some Bluetooth speaker electronics, and an NFC reader/writer - all from a single small package. My goal is to let my child listen to their favorite audiobooks in the evening without any distractions. The side plates of this player are designed to be split into two parts: the frame and the inlay. This allows me to print them in different colors, adding a bit of personality to the device. You can find the necessary scripts on GitHub at https://github.com/mxgxw/MFRC522-python. To connect the NFC reader/writer to the Raspberry Pi Zero, I've created a simple shield that combines two existing plans: one from Tinkernut and another from tutorials-raspberrypi.de. Feel free to modify it to fit your own speaker or components.
