Bonsai Planter (New HD Model with over 1,100,000 Triangles)
thingiverse
We set out to create a functional and visually appealing planter for your next bonsai endeavor, something we've come to genuinely love ourselves. The process took several months to pinpoint the perfect plant to complement the planter box design. You can download this model along with others from our website at http://www.gcreate.com/downloads/. The photographs showcase the planter printed at 200% scale; however, it could be printed even larger as the plant matures, which is a consideration we're already factoring into future prints.\nOur uploads include both shelled and solid models. When printing the solid model, you'll want to adjust the infill percentage to zero percent, then cut out the top portion of the planter or pause the print before reaching that stage. On the other hand, the shelled model prints remarkably well at its original scale or 2x scaled up but might prove too thin when printed at half scale.\nPrinters may vary in terms of support requirements; this was specifically tested on the gMax printer at several scales and showed no need for supports despite the over 80-degree overhangs. A reminder to note is that the base does not have drain holes, which users might consider adding to enhance the model's functionality.\nWe're eager for everyone to enjoy and use our planter, and we're especially looking forward to seeing what you choose to fill it with.\nThe model was created in 3ds Max 2011; however, due to export/unit discrepancies, it has been scaled up by 2540%. Some slicer software users may need to adjust for this by scaling down their models by .0393701. This adjustment did not cause any issues in our slic3r 1.1.6 version.\nGiven the planter's design, some users might find they require support due to their printer setup. It's worth noting that we found it prints flawlessly without supports when used on the gMax printer.
