Bone Burnishing Tool XCB-105-4134, a relic from the ancient era spanning 400 BCE to 100 CE. The village of Adamagan, situated atop Morzhovoi Bay on Alaska's western peninsula, was the epicenter of human activity in the Arctic during this time period. As the largest village in the region, it boasted an estimated population of 1,000 inhabitants who led diverse lives. Archaeological findings suggest that Adamagan was also inhabited during earlier periods: 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE, leaving behind a rich legacy of human presence in the area. The research conducted under NSF grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411, led by Principal Investigator H. Maschner, has shed light on the artifacts discovered from this era. Scanning these relics with precision tools such as the Faro Edge Arm or Minolta Vivid 9i revealed intricate details that were then refined using Geomagic or Polyworks software. To create authentic textures, 2-8 photographs were meticulously used in conjunction with Geomagic Wrap. The digitizing work was initially carried out at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., before being further processed and published by Global Digital Heritage.
