Bone Burnishing Tool XCB-105-4125. 1000 BCE-500 CE XCB-105 Adamagan, an Aleutian village in western Alaska Peninsula, boasts a rich history dating back to 1000 BCE-500 CE. This massive settlement was home to multiple occupations and was the largest Arctic village of its time, housing approximately 1000 people. Located at Morzhovoi Bay, XCB-105 Adamagan's significance extends beyond its size, with evidence of limited occupations dating as far back as 2200-1700 BCE, 500-700 BCE, and 900-1200 CE. The artifacts from this region were meticulously researched under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411, led by H. Maschner as the Principal Investigator. A comprehensive scanning process was conducted using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i, with subsequent processing done in Geomagic or Polyworks. A combination of 2-8 photographs was utilized to create intricate textures within Geomagic Wrap. The original digitization took place at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while further refinement and publication were completed at Global Digital Heritage.
