Bondtech BMG-X2 40mm Part Cooling Fan Duct Assembly. (Abandoned)
thingiverse
This is a design I've been tinkering with for a couple of days since I couldn't find any decent, slim width coolers that fit the Bondtech BMG-X2 without clashing with my z-axis parts. It employs three 40mm fans, with the two outermost ones linked together to chill the extruded plastic, and the center one focused on cooling the cold side heatsink. The design attaches securely using four M3x10mm screws to the heatsink, while all the fans are mounted with M3 up to 30mm screws. I'm unsure how well this will perform compared to blower designs, as it should draw in relatively cool air but won't push as much as a blower fan. However, it does seem to have a smooth flow of air around both nozzles, and minimal updraft cooling off the heat blocks. Unfortunately, I don't have the BMG-X2 installed on my printer yet, so I'm unable to test this design at present. As soon as I've had a chance to test it or gather feedback, you can expect regular updates from me.
