Bondtech BMG (left handed) + Piezo Orion mount for the V-King printer
thingiverse
This set of parts lets you install a Bondtech BMG (left-handed) paired with a Piezo Orion as a direct drive extruder for the V-King printer. The fan shroud demands three M3 bolts and three M3 nuts to attach the 4020 blower fan. I'm using this blower because it fits better, and also because it's the same fan I'm using on another printer, allowing me to standardize parts. The wire loom requires two M4 bolts and two M4 nuts. The spacers are placed between the "bmg-mount" and the stock wire loom attachment. To use these parts, assemble the "X Carrier (clean)" in the same way as you would the original V-King X Carrier - thanks to Roy Berntsen for providing this clean version of the carrier. Once it's mounted, you can attach the "bmg-mount" part like you would the Bowden Buddy and connect the opto-sensor in the same manner as with the stock Bowden Buddy. The rest should be straightforward. Fusion 360 source code is included. If you want to modify this setup for a right-hand (standard) version of the BMG extruder, you'll need to split the "bmg-mount" part and mirror only its front side. With that modified part, you can then print the fan shroud by mirroring it in your slicer - it should theoretically work. 2019-02-23: I've updated this design to increase air pressure, moved it closer to the hotend, and also updated the bmg-mount for more rear strength. If you printed an earlier version, you only need to print those two parts to update it to this one.
