EDIT: Just released this design - currently working on an extended version with a better part cooling duct featuring a 50mm radial fan. The new version will be released over the weekend. General: Extruder mount designed for Bondtech BMG + E3D v6, made to fit onto an aluminium bracket (linear rail). Compatible with any printer brand. I've included the CAD-files, feel free to modify them to suit your specific printer needs. This particular version is tailored for MK10-extruder from Creality and utilizes the stock fans. Note that the silicone sock is mounted backwards, which was intentional in order to further insulate the mount from the hotend. Overview: Clamshell design, everything seamlessly integrated. The goal was to create a compact mount that requires minimal space, is easy to print, and easy to assemble. No issues with alignment, stability, or positional accuracy were encountered. I also aimed for maximum clearance between the heating block and the mount (for visibility and thermal insulation) as well as good, directed airflow around the cooling fins. Approximately 20 hours of CAD-work and multiple iterations were required to reach this point (designed in SolidWorks). Assembly information: Assembly is straightforward - the extruder assembly simply clips into place after the back half of the clamshell is mounted to the carriage bracket, while the front half secures it in position. Everything is held together using the screws for the two fans. Stock fans are utilized, and I designed the part cooling duct to be easily exchangeable, just like on the stock extruder. Things needed: - Aluminium bracket - you must design your own. - 4 spacers Ø8 / Ø3 / 5mm thick (to provide clearance between the bracket and the mount for wiring/cabling) - 4 socket head cap screws M3x10 Printing information: All parts print without supports. This should be achievable on almost any printer. I recommend using ABS or PETG for temperature stability.
