The CS-100 entered commercial service with Swiss Global Airlines and Air Baltic in 2016. In 2018, Airbus secured a 50.1 percent stake in the C Series of aircraft. Two years later, Airbus opened a second assembly plant in Mobile, Alabama to manufacture the Airbus A220-100 and its variants.
