This aircraft comes in various formats for diverse applications. Bombardier unveiled the CRJ1000's development on February 19, 2007, initially designated as CRJ900X, as an extended version of the CRJ900 with a capacity of up to 100 seats. The first production flight took place on July 28, 2009, in Montreal, with plans for entry into service during the first quarter of 2010. By March 2014, 70 aircraft had been delivered to airlines, while 36 more orders remained unfilled.
